Rajasthan Pitches Bhiwadi Industrial Town as Ideal Location for Tesla’s India Entry

18. 04. 2024 : With Tesla, the US-based electric vehicle (EV) giant, eyeing India for its expansion, Rajasthan has emerged as a contender vying for the company’s attention. Alongside Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra, Rajasthan is making enticing offers to attract Tesla, with the Bureau of Investment Promotion spearheading the effort. Sources reveal that Rajasthan has proposed Bhiwadi industrial town as the prime location for Tesla’s potential venture. The state has identified specific land parcels and conveyed them to the Tesla team, indicating its enthusiasm for securing the deal. Sources aware of the progress said that an initial meeting between the senior executives of Tesla and the government of Rajasthan, which was held last week, turned out to be “quite positive.”

“Among the many industrial zones in and around Bhiwadi, we feel the Salarpur or Khushkhera Industrial area would be most compatible with the needs of the company. The area was designed to become an auto hub and already has a presence of auto majors, and ancillary industries. These zones are very well connected to the Delhi-Jaipur expressway and have seamless infrastructure support,” said an official requesting anonymity

These areas, integral to Rajasthan’s Phase-II industrial development plan, offer strategic advantages. Officials said that the state pitched its proximity with the national capital region, the seamless connectivity with Delhi and Mumbai through road and rail, cheap labor cost, and huge land banks. The state government is also planning to add the proposed airport near Bhiwadi and a railway cargo terminal.

Commenting on this Anil Gupta, President of CREDAI NCR Bhiwadi Neemrana shared “In the past decade, we witnessed the unprecedented growth of Bhiwadi’s industrial sector, which has not only fueled the demand for housing but has also positioned Bhiwadi as an ideal region to invest and reside in. The government’s proactive efforts to attract automotive giant Tesla to Bhiwadi are poised to propel this region to the next level of growth altogether. This potential collaboration holds the promise of unlocking new opportunities and cementing Bhiwadi’s status as a dynamic economic powerhouse within the National Capital Region. With planned infrastructure projects such as the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) along with the upcoming Delhi-Gurugram-SNB RRTS Corridor, Bhiwadi’s growth trajectory is set to accelerate further in the coming years. Bhiwadi boasts excellent connectivity to major cities like Delhi, Gurgaon, and Jaipur, making it an ideal destination for residential and commercial development”

Once a tranquil village nestled in Rajasthan’s Alwar district, Bhiwadi, situated in close proximity to New Delhi has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past two decades, evolving into a thriving industrial center within the National Capital Region (NCR), Bhiwadi now boasts a vibrant landscape dotted with approximately 5,000 factories. These establishments cater to a diverse array of products, ranging from Honda Cars to Jaguar sanitaryware, underscoring its significance as one of the largest industrial hubs in the region. This industrial boom has fueled the residential demand as well in this region. This development has further boosted the overall sentiment for this reason.

Gupta further added “This area was meticulously planned to serve as an automotive hub, boasting a significant presence of major auto manufacturers and ancillary industries. With seamless connectivity to the Delhi-Jaipur expressway and robust infrastructure support, these zones are primed for sustained growth and development. Once the region gets connected with the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, its potential for growth and prosperity will be further enhanced”
