Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav lit the lamp and inaugurated a two-day workshop on Indian knowledge tradition in various contexts under the National Education Policy-2020 today. Higher Education Minister Shri Inder Singh Parmar, Director Madhya Pradesh Hindi Granth Academy Shri Ashok Kadail and Secretary Education Culture Upliftment Trust Dr. Atul Kothari also addressed the inaugural session organized at Government Sarojini Naidu Girls Post Graduate College, Bhopal. Additional Chief Secretary Higher Education Shri K.C. Gupta welcomed the guests by presenting Angavastram, Tulsi plant and souvenirs.

Expansion, renovation and repair of Government Sarojini Naidu Girls College, Bhopal at a cost of Rs 860.82 lakhs and dedication of new building of Government College Sirali Harda costing Rs 617.82 lakhs

Governor Shri Patel and Chief Minister Dr. Yadav dedicated the work of expansion, renovation and barrier-free work of Government Sarojini Naidu Girls Post Graduate College, Bhopal being undertaken at a cost of Rs 860.82 lakh and also dedicated the new building of Government College Sirali Harda constructed at a cost of Rs 617.82 lakh, at the inauguration of the Indian Knowledge Tradition Miscellaneous Reference Workshop.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was honoured by Higher Education Minister Shri Inder Singh Parmar with a congratulatory letter and memento on Madhya Pradesh surpassing the national level (28.9) in All India Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER 28.4) in the year 2021-22. In the inaugural session, a short film based on the achievements of the Higher Education Department and Indian knowledge tradition was also shown.

Governor Shri Patel has said that the Indian knowledge tradition has guided the entire world. India’s knowledge related to mathematics, astrology, astronomy, medicine and spirituality has spread in Arab, Europe, Central Asia, East and South Asian countries. The curriculum based on the Indian knowledge tradition should also integrate the values ​​of life, cultural pride of the Indian society, the sacrifices and struggles of the heroes and heroines who died for the motherland and the intention of the inclusive and egalitarian provisions of the Constitution.

National Education Policy Campaign to guide the youth

Governor Shri Patel said that the youth of the nation is the carrier and beneficiary of change. Education curriculum is a great campaign to write the future of the coming generations, give direction to youth power and shape the vision of development. To create a rich generation based on the Indian knowledge tradition that will keep the national interest paramount, it is necessary that colleges and universities make students knowledgeable and skilled. Our education must provide students with a healthy and clean lifestyle and ways to deal with future issues, participate in social concerns and explore the world beyond mobile phones. Teachers should be role models who guide students by their conduct.

National Education Policy, a Mahayagya to make India a world leader

Governor Shri Patel said that Indian knowledge tradition has been rich since ancient times, be it the theory of relativity of Indian philosophy, plastic surgery, discovery of zero, astrology and medical science of Ayurveda, India has been leading in all fields. He said that the national education policy is the Mahayagya to achieve this pride of India, to make it a world leader, to prepare a capable and efficient generation for the global competition of the 21st century and to awaken the nation. He said that various aspects related to creative, constructuve, critical, research tendencies, innovation as well as enhancing entrepreneurship and employability of education should also be discussed in the workshop. Governor Shri Patel expressed hope that for effective implementation of education policy, the suggestions and ideas in the workshop will be helpful in preparing education curriculum based on Indian knowledge tradition.

Indian culture and tradition does not believe in limiting knowledge

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has said that Indian culture and tradition does not believe in limiting knowledge. According to Rigveda, knowledge should be accepted from wherever it comes. There is a patent system in the West, which is based on earning profit from knowledge, whereas in India, the Rishi Parampara was not confined within the boundaries of any state. We believe that Rishis are for the entire world, the one who spends his entire life in research for the betterment of the society is the Rishi Parampara. Shruti and Smriti have kept Indian culture and knowledge tradition intact. The State Government is committed to encourage research in universities in the field of Indian knowledge tradition.

Universities in the state will be developed holistically

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Higher Education Department, which paves the way for the future of the young generation, is very important for the state government. Universities in the state will be developed holistically. The quality of the universities of the state will be made so effective that students from the country as well as from abroad will be eager to study in the state. A university is being established after Kranti Surya Tantya Mama in the state.

Prime Minister Shri Modi realized the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the source of our knowledge tradition is as sacred as Gangotri. We have the heritage of Nalanda and Takshashila. We are eager to connect the world with us easily under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi. Consequently, during the Covid tragedy, Prime Minister Shri Modi gave meaning to the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam by providing medicines to more than 100 countries.

Higher Education Minister Shri Inder Singh Parmar said that Indian Knowledge Tradition Cells will be formed at the state level and in all the universities in the state. Two-day workshop to have 26 sessions

Director Madhya Pradesh Hindi Granth Academy Shri Kadail informed that Madhya Pradesh is among the leading states of the country that focuses on the Indian knowledge tradition. There will be a total of 26 sessions in the two-day workshop. Secretary Education Culture Upliftment Trust, Dr. Atal Kothari said that this workshop is being organized with the aim of incorporating the Indian knowledge tradition in the courses while establishing identity with the modern context.

Our main goal is to try to bring Indianness in all workplaces. He expressed the need to establish Indian Knowledge Tradition Cell at the state level and organize such workshops in all the universities.
