Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav while addressing a gathering at the digital launch event held at PTC Ground in Sagar, highlighted Sagar’s prominent role in education, the city renowned for Dr. Harisingh Gaur’s legacy. Virtually inaugurating Rani Avanti Bai Lodhi University, Dr. Yadav announced its commencement in the upcoming session and plans for constructing a dedicated university building.

Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the land of Madhya Pradesh is the main educational center of the country. Lord Shri Krishna pursued education in Sandipani Ashram Ujjain, while educationist Dr. Harisingh Gaur was the torchbearer in Bundelkhand. Expressing firm conviction, Dr. Mohan Yadav asserts Dr. Harisingh Gaur’s undeniable eligibility for the Bharat Ratna. Notably, Sagar stands out as the sole district among the state’s 55 districts boasting two universities. Highlighting the Madhya Pradesh government’s prompt action, significant decisions have been swiftly executed within a 90-day timeframe. Just 52 days prior, the announcement of a government university honoring the courageous Rani Avanti Bai Lodhi in Sagar was made, now materializing into reality. He emphasized that colleges and universities cultivate skilled citizens, emphasizing the importance for youth to possess not just a degree on paper but also essential skills. In this perspective, the entire structure of education is being prepared under the new education policy, the credit for which goes to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. In the new education policy, courses for imparting values ​​along with skills have also been included. Courses will be started in Sagar’s new university on the suggestions of students.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that on January 20, he had announced the opening of Ayurveda Medical College in Sagar. He announced Ayurveda College to be named after Acharya Shri Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj. He said that this would be a true tribute to Acharya Shri Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj. Dr. Yadav announced the construction of Sant Ravidas road. On the demand of public representatives, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also announced to start postgraduate courses in government colleges of Banda and Makronia and science faculty at graduate level in Kesli. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that air ambulance facility is being provided in the districts of the state, including Sagar to provide prompt treatment to the seriously ill. Sagar will also have air connectivity. The state government has also decided to operate small 12-seater aircraft.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has announced a financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh for the kidney transplant of Mohit Rajput, a child of Sironja village. He said that the government will not let anyone suffer. He directed to send a proposal to Collector Shri Deepak Arya for financial assistance for the treatment of another 13-year-old cancer victim Omprakash Kakshi.

Minister Shri Govind Singh Rajput said that for the last 13 years, public representatives, citizens and students were continuously demanding a state level university in Sagar. The Chief Minister had announced setting-up of Rani Avanti Bai Lodhi Government University on his maiden visit to Sagar on January 20. Minister Shri Rajput requested Chief Minister Dr. Yadav to convey the idea of​​awarding the title of Bharat Ratna to Dr. Harisingh Gaur to the Central Government. MP Shri Rajbahadur Singh and MLA Shri Shailendra Jain said that they thanked Chief Minister Dr. Yadav on behalf of the people of the district for establishing Rani Avanti Bai Lodhi University and starting it from this session.

Lodhi Kshatriya Samaj and other organizations, various communities and public representatives also welcomed the Chief Minister with mementos and garlands. A short film on the achievements of the state government was also screened. Colourful programmes were presented by the students of Dr. Harisingh Gaur University, Girls College and Arts and Commerce College. Police, Smart City, Women and Child Development, District Trade and Industry Centre, AYUSH, Tribal Affairs Department, Government ITI, Skill Development put up stalls and an exhibition in the programme.

Rani Avanti Bai Lodhi University

As many as 70 thousand students of Sagar and Damoh districts will reap benefits with the launch of the government university in Sagar. As many as 78 colleges from both the districts will be affiliated with the university. The academic session in the university will start from 2024-25 and admissions will start from the upcoming session. Professor of Economics of Girls College Smt. Shakti Jain has been made the first Registrar of the university by the State Government.

Sangeeta Tiwari, District Panchayat President Shri Heerasingh Rajput, Municipal Corporation President Shri Vridavan Ahirwar, District Panchayat Vice President Shri Devendra Singh Thakur, former Chairperson of the Women’s Commission Smt. Lata Wankhede and other public representatives.
