Results to be announced after postal ballots counting completes
Shri Rajan apprises in the meeting of political parties
A meeting of recognised political parties was held on Monday under Lok Sabha Elections-2024. In the meeting, Chief Election Officer Shri Anupam Rajan informed that counting of votes for Lok Sabha Elections 2024 will start from 8 am on June 4. Counting of postal ballots will take place at the Returning Officer (RO) headquarters. Counting of postal ballots will start at 8 am across 29 (RO) headquarters. Subsequently counting of votes from EVMs will begin from 8:30 am. In the remaining 23 districts where postal ballots are not being counted, counting of votes from EVMs will start from 8 am.
Shri Rajan informed that the result will be declared after the counting of postal ballots is completed. The result of counting of votes in EVMs will be declared after each round is over.
Shri Rajan informed that polling was completed in four phases in the state, the total voting percentage was 66.87. Till now a total of 1 lakh 26 thousand 542 votes have been cast through postal ballot. Counting will be done under the supervision of 116 observers appointed by the Election Commissioner. Counting of EVPAT slips will be done at 5 randomly selected polling centres of each assembly constituency as per the protocol prescribed by the Commission.
Shri Rajan informed that carrying mobile, iPad, laptop, calculator and general electronic device or recording device to the counting centres is prohibited. There will be a dry day on the day of counting. He also resolved the questions and doubts of the representatives of political parties.
Additional Chief Electoral Officer Shri Rajesh Kaul briefed about the various processes of election.
Shri SS Uppal of Bharatiya Janata Party and MLA Shri Bhagwandas Sabnani, Shri JP Dhanopia of Indian National Congress, Shri Sumit Chauhan of Aam Aadmi Party, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Shri Vivek Shrotiya, Shri Tarun Rathi and Shri Manoj Khatri and other officials were present in the meeting.
