Higher Education, Technical Education, and AYUSH Minister Shri Inder Singh Parmar said that university and college libraries will soon be enriched with books on the Indian knowledge system. He made this statement during a meeting of the ‘Bharatiya Gyan Parampara Sheersh Committee’ of the Higher Education Department at Mantralaya. The detailed action plan was discussed, focusing on various aspects of the Indian knowledge system. Minister Shri Parmar emphasized the importance of aligning with the National Education Policy 2020 by organizing workshops in universities and colleges to integrate the Indian knowledge system into their curriculum. He also stressed the need for active participation from subject experts to ensure meaningful implementation.
Shri Inder Singh Parmar emphasized that in accordance with the National Education Policy 2020, it is essential to ensure that literature related to the Indian Knowledge System is available in the libraries of the state’s universities and colleges. He urged members of the apex committee to actively participate in the upcoming workshops. He also highlighted the importance of having subject experts present at these workshops to compile literary material promptly for book writing. Shri Parmar suggested organizing competitions, such as online question forums based on the Indian Knowledge System, for students in the state’s universities and colleges. He noted that the beliefs and traditions of Indian society are scientifically grounded and beneficial for life. Furthermore, he remarked that Indian society’s perspective has historically been technology-based, emphasizing the need to restore the sense of preservation inherent in our traditions and beliefs.
It may be noted that workshops will be organized in 27 universities of the state from June 20 to July 31 in various contexts of Indian knowledge system. Workshops will be organized in the colleges of 10 divisions of the state and Raja Shankarshah University, Chhindwara in the months of August and September.
In the meeting, Commissioner of Higher Education Shri Nishant Warvade, Vice Chairman of Bharatiya Gyan Parampara Apex Committee Shri Atul Kothari, Director of Hindi Granth Academy and committee member Shri Ashok Kadel and Vice Chancellor of Maharishi Balmiki Sanskrit University Kaithal (Haryana) Shri Rameshchandra Bhardwaj and members of the committee and vice-chancellors of various universities were present.
