Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that under the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan (Campaign) started in the state on June 5, plantation should be encouraged along with the conservation and cleanliness of water sources. The target is to plant 5 crore 50 lakh saplings in the state. During the campaign, saplings will be planted in the entire state with public participation. Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan will continue even after Ganga Dashami, all local bodies will conduct campaign-related activities at their respective levels. After Hariyali Amavasya, intensive plantation activities will be conducted. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, while appreciating the campaign being run with public participation by the Municipal Corporation Bhopal for cleaning the Lower Lake in Bhopal, said that water sports will be encouraged in the state. Along with Bhopal, water sports activities are also being conducted in Indore and Ujjain, we will aim to bring a medal in the next Olympics. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the gathering after offering shramdaan for cleaning the Lower Lake of Bhopal on the second day of the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan being run for the conservation and revitalization of water sources.

Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya said that it is necessary to maintain the purity and divinity of Narmada River, the lifeline of the state. Instructions have been issued to close the urban bodies of the state whose waste is going into the Narmada River within a year.

He said that to make the Narmada River pollution-free, he suggested encouraging the farmers to adopt organic farming in an area of ​​two kilometers on either side of the Narmada River. Minister Shri Vijayvargiya said that the urban bodies will conduct activities with the cooperation of the local public for the cleanliness and conservation of water sources like wells, ponds, step-wells, etc. in the civic area.

Bhopal Mayor Smt. Malti Rai said that under the campaign, cleanliness activities will be conducted by residents and the Municipal Corporation team at twelve places on the banks of various ponds of Bhopal from 8 am to 10 am. Similarly, activities will be undertaken for the cleanliness and conservation of 54 wells and 42 step wells of Bhopal with public cooperation. Water from these water sources will also be used appropriately.

Mayor Bhopal Smt. Rai said that better maintenance of water sources will also increase the beautification of Bhopal. In the program, Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare and Cooperatives Shri Vishwas Sarang, Minister of State for Backward Classes and Minority Welfare (Independent Charge) Smt. Krishna Gaur, Minister of State for Urban Development and Housing Smt. Pratima Bagri, MLA Shri Rameshwar Sharma, MLA Shri Bhagwan Das Sabwani, and other public representatives were present.
