Chief Minister reviews the Culture and Tourism Department
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized the need for a well-structured action plan to develop tourism and religious sites in the state. He stated that these places should be made more attractive and grand, with efforts to increase the number of sites to promote religious tourism. An action plan should be devised to celebrate Geeta Mahotsav on Geeta Jayanti, as well as Manas Jayanti. Additionally, Indian culture and philosophy should be widely disseminated among the people of the state.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was reviewing the development of religious and tourist places, Shri Ramchandra Path Gaman Trust, and the development of places related to Lord Shri Ram and Lord Shri Krishna under the Culture and Tourism Department in Mantralaya today. Minister of State for Culture, Tourism, Religious Trusts and Endowments (Independent Charge) Shri Dharmendra Singh Lodhi, Chief Secretary Smt. Veera Rana, Additional Chief Secretary Chief Minister’s Office Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, Principal Secretary Culture and Tourism Shri Sheo Shekhar Shukla, and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav instructed the construction of entrance gates in Bhopal named after Lord Shri Ram and Lord Shri Krishna. He also called for an action plan to create entrance gates honoring Raja Bhoj and Raja Vikramaditya, and to prepare entry gates at the state borders. Dr. Yadav emphasized the need for improved efforts to inform visitors about the state’s culture and religiously significant sites.
Enhance Promotion and Branding of Tourism and Religious Sites
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav instructed officials to identify places associated with Lord Shri Ram and Lord Shri Krishna and to gather scholars for their development. He stated the importance of working in coordination with MPs and other public representatives to develop these religious sites. Noting the steady increase in tourist numbers in the state, particularly in places like Ujjain, Maihar, Indore, and Chitrakoot, he also directed efforts towards better branding and promotion of other tourist and religious locations.
Ensure High-Quality Standards in Construction Works
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized the need for improved execution and ensured high-quality standards in the construction of 18 loks across the state. Additionally, he highlighted plans for ropeway installations at 7 locations, which will significantly elevate the state’s tourism profile. Progressing further, there are 8 ongoing projects aimed at developing venues for light and sound shows, alongside 5 museum construction projects in progress and 5 proposed works. Dr. Yadav highlighted the importance of executing all these endeavors with utmost care and ensuring top-notch quality throughout the process.
Promotion of local products and tourism and religious places should be done in museums
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that promotion of one district, one product and its dissemination should be ensured through museums. He said that people should also be given information related to local products and religious and tourist places etc. through books.
Omkareshwar’s Mamleshwar Temple Development to Mirror Ujjain’s Standards
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the development work of Mamleshwar temple in Omkareshwar should be completed on the lines of Ujjain. He said that the ministers of the Government of India should be invited and informed about the religious and tourist places and the projects of various works going on in the state. Work should be done properly on this to ensure their fame. Convention centers should be built in big cities.
Roadshows should be organized for the promotion of investments. Employment opportunities should be increased through religious tourism activities. He instructed the District Collector to prepare a plan for the Satna Development Authority. Principal Secretary of the Culture and Tourism Department, Shri Sheo Shekhar Shukla gave information about various development works and achievements. Information on the achievements of the Tourism Corporation was also given.
