Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel has said that the behavior and attitude of the police in serving the public are important. Police behavior should be sensitive towards the public. Governor Shri Patel was addressing the ‘Officers and Employees honored with the President’s Medal meeting’ program. On this occasion, he extended best wishes and congratulated the medal recipients of the Madhya Pradesh Police, Jail and Home Guards and their families. It may be noted that this year, 69 police officers and employees of the state police have been awarded the President’s Police Medal. This honor was given for gallantry, distinguished service, and meritorious service, The program was organized in the Sandipani Auditorium of Raj Bhavan.

Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel said that the state police has done commendable work in the direction of environmental protection along with the responsibilities of maintaining law and order. The police have planted 1.25 lakh saplings in a day under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. Governor Shri Patel thanked the Madhya Pradesh Police Force for this success. He also called upon the state police to take up the responsibility of taking care of the planted saplings in the future.

Police play an important role in cyber awareness

Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel said that the nature of cyber crimes has changed in the era of information technology. Mostly children, women, rural people and people from deprived sections are becoming victims of cyber crimes. Police will have to play an important role in cyber awareness. The police will have to be technically and legally proficient, conduct sensitive analysis and take punitive action against cyber criminals. He said that every officer and employee of the state police should perform his duties with complete devotion and commitment.

Now there is a need for predictive policing from reactive policing

Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel said that in a democratic system, active police are the basis of a strong and healthy society. Security is necessary for the development of society and police is necessary for security. Police will have to keep themselves updated according to time. Now there is a need for predictive policing from reactive policing. He said that in the last six months, the police have taken strict action against Naxal activities. By killing four hardcore Naxalites, Naxal activities have been controlled to a great extent. Governor Shri Patel said that the state police have taken effective action to strictly suppress anti-social elements and anti-national forces and stop the illegal transportation of cattle.

Director General of Police Shri Sudhir Kumar Saxena welcomed Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel with a bouquet. DGP Shri Saxena gave the welcome address. He gave information about the medal recipients, the law and order of the state and the social concern-based work of the police. Additional Director General of Police Shri Sajid Fareed Shapu proposed the vote of thanks.

Director General Jail Shri Govind Pratap Singh, Director General Home Guard Shri Arvind Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Governor Shri Mukesh Chand Gupta, senior officers of Madhya Pradesh Police, medal recipients of Madhya Pradesh Police, Home Guard and Jail Department and their families were present in the program.
