The State Government has constituted a High-Powered Steering Committee under the Chairmanship of the Chief Secretary for the operation of the SIDBI Cluster Development Fund (SCDF) by the Government of India.
Members of the committee include the Additional Chief Secretary of Technical Education, Skill Development and Employment, Principal Secretary of Finance, Public Works, Tourism, Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion, and Secretary of Micro, Small and Medium Industries. The Director Budget will be the Member Secretary.
The committee will examine such projects proposed by the administrative departments and give its recommendations, for which it will be proposed to obtain a loan under the SIDBI Cluster Development Fund (SCDF). The committee will consider points like the need for the plan/project, the benefits it will bring to the state, its cost, and its usefulness from the economic point of view. If the scheme/project of any other administrative department comes under the scope of loan assistance under the SIDBI Cluster Development Fund (SCDF), in that case, the Additional Chief Secretary/Principal Secretary/Secretary of the concerned administrative department will be invited to the meeting.
The committee will also be able to invite officials related to the SIDBI Cluster Development Fund (SCDF) to the review meeting. Committee meetings to review the SIDBI Cluster Development Fund will be held quarterly as per requirement.
