Chief Minister Shri Sai meets silver medalist Sushri Sneha Banjare, who participated in the World Karate Championship

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai met with Sushri Sneha Banjare, who won the silver medal at the World Karate Championship in Dubai, on Tuesday. Chief Minister Sai greeted her for the achievement and extended his best wishes. He stated that winning medals at the international competition while representing the country and the state is a matter of pride.

Chief Minister Shri Sai stated,”Your success will inspire the daughters of the state, and girls will come forward in sports like karate. Daughters have always broken the myths. They have proven their abilities in every field”. He interacted with Sneha and spoke about the competition. He honoured Sneha by presenting her medals won in the competition and award certificates.

It is noteworthy that Sushri Sneha Banjare from Korba district won the silver medal in the senior category of the 68-kilogram segment at the World Karate Championship held in the UAE. Athletes from 84 countries participated in the competition. 49 players, including Sneha, were selected from India to participate in the World Championship. She was the only selected player from Chhattisgarh. She defeated competitors from 11 countries in her category to reach the finals. In the final, she competed against a player from Egypt and won the silver medal. Currently, she is a final-year student pursuing her MPEd at Guru Ghasidas University, and as an athlete, she has won numerous medals.
