Ration card applications being resolved on priority basis
Chief Minister Shri Sai directs administration to take prompt action on issues related to basic facilities
Raipur, July 10, 2024
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has instructed officials to rapidly process applications for essential services such as ration cards for the public. Consequently, efforts are underway to expedite the processing of ration card applications received through Jandarshan.
In a similar instance, immediate action was taken on the application submitted by Sumrita Bai, a resident of Gram Panchayat Arda in the Katghora development block of Korba district, for an Antyodaya ration card at the Collector’s Jandarshan. Collector Shri Ajit Vasant promptly instructed the Food Officer to issue an Antyodaya ration card to the eligible Sumrita Bai. Following quick processing, the Antyodaya ration card was delivered to Sumrita Bai at her home through the Gram Panchayat Sarpanch.
Likewise, Shri Praveen Kumar, from Jorhadabari village in the Pali development block, voluntarily applied at Jandarshan to have his name removed from his mother’s ration card. Upon receiving instructions from the Collector, the Food Officer promptly deleted Praveen Kumar’s name as a dependent member.
It is worth mentioning that the ‘Antyodaya Anna Yojana’ has been in effect since March 2001 to assist poorest families. The scheme ensures eligible households receive 35 kg of rice per month at the highly subsidized rate of Rs 1 per kg. Currently, all Antyodaya ration card holders are receiving free rice under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana.
