Labour Minister Shri Prahlad Patel chairs 90th Regional Council Meeting of the Employees State Insurance Corporation
Panchayat and Rural Development and Labour Minister Shri Prahlad Patel has instructed to submit proposals for hospital construction in Satna, Mandideep, and Jabalpur. Existing hospitals and dispensaries be upgraded to further improve health services.
Shri Patel was presiding over the 90th Regional Council meeting of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) for Madhya Pradesh, organized by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, at Indore today.
Shri Patel instructed that proposals for constructing hospitals and dispensaries on the land available with the corporation. Shri Patel directed the concerning officers to prepare a proposal for the construction of a 50-bed hospital in Ratlam, considering the needs of the Industrial Corridor. Attention should be given to ensuring that new hospitals and dispensaries are located close to the city to avoid inconvenience. Hospital construction in Pithampur be completed within the stipulated time frame.
Minister Shri Patel also gave instructions to the senior officers regarding the evacuation of dilapidated residential buildings in the ESIS Hospital complex in Songiri, Bhopal. He said that the systems of delivery of medicines through dispensaries and hospitals should be streamlined. He called for taking action to restore availability of ambulance services in Songiri.
Minister Shri Patel reviewed the registration process for employees in municipal corporations and municipalities and instructed to conduct a special campaign to register workers through the registration process in other municipal councils and town panchayats. He stressed on timely availability of generic medicines in dispensaries and hospitals. He laid stress on immediate action in case of emergency services and that no laxity will be tolerated at any level, he added.
The meeting was attended by key officials including Principal Secretary of the Labour Department and Vice Chairman of the Regional Council Shri Sachin Sinha, Labour Commissioner Indore Shri S. Dhanaraju, Regional Director and Member Secretary of the Regional Council Shri M. Rubani, Assistant Director of ESIS Shri Natwar Sharda, State Medical Officer Shri Manish Malviya, Insurance Commissioner Western Region Shri Ramjilal Meena, Medical Commissioner Mrs. Gunjan Gupta, Shri Nishchal Kumar Nagar, Mahesh Malviya, Employer Representative Shri Venkatesh Goyal, Employee Representatives Shri Mahesh Malviya, Lakshminarayana Pathak, Rajesh Tiwari, and other members.
