Preparations complete for free and fair elections in the state: Shri Rajan

Deputy Election Commissioner of Election Commission of India reviews poll preparations

Preparations for free and fair elections in the state under Lok Sabha Elections-2024 are complete. Arrangements for drinking water, essential medicines and tents are being made at all polling stations. Continuous efforts are also being made to increase the voting percentage. This was stated by Chief Electoral Officer Shri Anupam Rajan during the review of election preparations through video conferencing by Deputy Election Commissioner of the Election Commission of India, Shri Ajay Bhadu. Shri Rajan said that a total of 871 checkpoints have been made in the state, where continuous monitoring is being done. Of these, 309 inter-state and 562 intra-state checkpoints have been made. Seizure proceedings are being carried out regularly.

Deputy Election Commissioner of the Election Commission of India, Shri Ajay Bhadu held separate discussions with the General Observer, Police Observer and Expenditure Observer of Tikamgarh, Damoh, Khajuraho, Satna, Rewa and Hoshangabad parliamentary constituencies and sought information about the election preparations. Observers said that the district teams are making best preparations for the elections.

Additional Chief Electoral Officer Shri Rajesh Kaul and Joint Chief Electoral Officer Shri Basant Kurre were also present in the review meeting.
