Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah has said that the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign spearheaded by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has now become a mass movement. This is a manifestation of public respect towards mother and Mother Earth. Every person is paying respect to mother and Mother Earth by planting a sapling. Indore is already known for cleanliness, taste, cooperation, good governance and participation. Union Home Minister Shri Shah was addressing the program of planting 11 lakh saplings under Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Abhiyan organized at Revati Range Complex in Indore today.
Indore will also be known across the country for massive plantation under Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Abhiyan. This world record of planting 11 lakh saplings in 24 hours in Indore will make Indore, the city of Devi Ahilyabai, famous across the world with a new record. He said that planting a sapling is easy, but caring it challenging. All the participants planting saplings need to take care of the saplings planted by them. He said that planting 51 lakh saplings and planting 11 lakh in a single day is unprecedented. He congratulated the people of Indore for the unique event.

The Union Home Minister Shri Shah, while saluting the CAPF jawans, said that the CAPF jawans have done a commendable job of planting 5 crore 21 lakh saplings last year from Kanyakumari to North East and from Bengal to Gujarat. Similarly, by 2024, the planting 6 crore saplings will be completed by planting one crore more saplings.

The population of Indore is 30 lakh but we will plant 51 lakh saplings. An estimated 60 lakh saplings will be planted. He said that Indore is known as a clean city. Under the Swachh Bharat Mission, Indore gave a new direction to the country and now Prime Minister Shri Modi has envisioned Green Indore, on which a city giving the message of Green Indore is going to be built. Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silavat said that on Environment Day, Prime Minister Shri Modi took the pledge of Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Abhiyan, which 140 crore people are engaged in completing.
