29th to 31st March and 1st April will be holidays
Chief Electoral Officer Shri Anupam Rajan said that nomination papers will be submitted for 5 days for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024. He informed that the process of filing nominations for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections has started from March 28. Due to government holiday of Good Friday on March 29, Sunday on March 31 and bank holiday on April 1, nomination papers will not be submitted. The last date for filing nomination papers for the second phase is April 4, 2024.
Deposit amount
Chief Electoral Officer Shri Rajan said that the deposit amount (Surety amount) has been fixed by the Election Commission of India for contesting the Lok Sabha-2024 elections. Along with the nomination letter, candidates belonging to unreserved category will have to deposit Rs 25 thousand and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe category will have to deposit Rs 12 thousand 500.
