National Workshop on Bird Flu to be Held on June 19-20

Animal husbandry and dairy experts from World Bank and various states will participate

A national workshop on bird flu (avian influenza) will be held at Hotel Courtyard Marriott Bhopal on June 19 and 20, starting at 9:30 am. The workshop will feature scientific discussions on bird flu and an in-depth debate on the One Health approach concerning other emerging and zoonotic diseases. This event is being organized jointly by the World Bank and the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying.

Secretary, Government of India, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department, Animal Husbandry Commissioner, Government of India, Principal Secretary, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department, State Government as well as experts from Assam, Odisha, Karnataka, Kerala, West Bengal, Maharashtra and Delhi will also be present in the workshop. Besides, experts from World Bank, senior scientists from National High Security Animal Disease Research Laboratory, officials from Animal Husbandry and Dairy Department and Health Department of the states, officials from national level health institutions, officials from Forest Department and Wildlife Department and officials from other disease research laboratories etc. will be present.
