Maintain the level of alertness and ensure Robust Security at the counting venue: Shri Anupam Rajan

Chief Electoral Officer holds the VC and instructs to all the returning officers, Collector and District Election Officers

The voting process for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in the state has concluded over four phases. The vote counting for all four phases is scheduled for Tuesday, June 4. On Tuesday, Chief Electoral Officer Shri Anupam Rajan conducted a video conference with the Returning Officers, Assistant Returning Officers, Collectors, and District Election Officers from all 29 Lok Sabha parliamentary constituencies in the state. He provided detailed instructions for the preparations related to vote counting and emphasized that all officers must maintain a high level of alertness and ensure robust security arrangements at the counting venues.

Shri Rajan congratulated all the officers and employees on the peaceful completion of all four phases of voting in the state. He emphasized that all necessary arrangements and resources must be available at the counting venues. Due to the intense heat, provisions should include cold water, coolers, fans, medical kits, ambulances, fire extinguishing equipment, and fire brigades. Ensure a continuous electricity supply at the counting site, with power backup plans and generators in working condition. A gazetted officer should be deployed to monitor the EVMs and VVPAT machines from the strong room to the counting venue. Notify recognized national political parties and conduct a media briefing the day before the vote counting to inform them about the preparations.

Mobile phones will be banned at the counting venue

Chief Electoral Officer Shri Rajan said that as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, carrying mobile phones to the counting venue will be prohibited. Media persons will also be able to take mobile phones only till the media centre.

Complete the training work by 31st May

Chief Electoral Officer Shri Rajan instructed all Returning Officers, Collectors, and District Election Officers to ensure that the training for counting personnel is completed by May 31. He highlighted that the counting personnel must be thoroughly trained to follow all protocols meticulously during the counting process..

Maximum 24 rounds of votes will be counted in Powai assembly

Counting of votes will be completed in maximum 24 rounds in Powai assembly of Panna district under Khajuraho Lok Sabha constituency. 14 tables will be set up here.

Minimum 11 rounds of counting of votes will take place in Sevda Assembly

Counting of votes in the minimum 11 rounds will take place in Sevda assembly of Datia district which falls under Bhind Lok Sabha constituency. 20 tables will be set up here.

Maximum 28 tables each will be set up here

During the counting of votes to be held on June 4 under the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, the maximum number of tables will be set-up in Seoni assembly constituency under Balaghat Lok Sabha constituency, Kewalari, Lakhnadon assembly constituency of Mandla Lok Sabha constituency and Budni assembly constituency under Vidisha Lok Sabha constituency. Here 28 tables each will be set-up.
