Lokmata Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Tricentenary Celebrations inaugurated
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that Lokmata Devi Ahilya Bai is an example of ideal personality, life and character of for all of us. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the inaugural ceremony of Lokmata Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar programme in Indore. During the year-long Tricentenary Celebrations, programmes based on the life, work and personality of Mata Ahilya Bai Holkar will be organised at various places across the country. Former Lok Sabha Speaker Smt. Sumitra Mahajan, Urban Administration Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat, Shri Krishna Gopal, Sushri Nivedita Bhide, Sushri Sonal Mansingh, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Shri Gyananand Ji Tirth, Mahamandaleshwar Kirandas Bapu Maharaj, Mahamandaleshwar Krishnavandan Ji Maharaj were also specially present in the inauguration programme. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Devi Ahilya Bai is our ideal. Devi Ahilya Bai’s name is famous in the whole country. She has special role in religious and governance arrangements. Her main aim was that her people should never be deprived and hungry. The story of her good governance is famous in the whole country. Devi Ahilya Bai’s life, personality and work will be included in the educational curriculum. He said that the works done by Devi Ahilya Bai in the field of Shiva worship is still a good example in the whole country.
Former Lok Sabha Speaker Smt. Sumitra Mahajan said that the entire state including Malwa is prosperous due to the virtue of Lokmata Devi Ahilya Bai. She has been a better administrator and ruler. She had the amazing ability to make and implement action plans. She was honest, religious and a Rajyogi. We should learn from her life. She also spoke about preserving the Modhi script.
The keynote speaker Sushri Nivedita Bhide said that Devi Ahilya Bai made her life meaningful by serving the people. Her entire life and work was to take care of people. She considered herself responsible towards the people to keep them happy. She did every work inspired by God. She was an ascetic woman, an embodiment of woman power and simplicity. The stories of her love for justice are well known. She bravely faced the sorrows and hardships in her life. She did not let her pain and troubles become an obstacle in public service.
Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Shri Gyananand Ji Tirtha said that Mata Devi Ahilya Bai has done exemplary and ideal work keeping the spirit of surrender to Shiva. She consistently worked dedicatedly, maintaining her religious beliefs for the nation. She has also done remarkable work in the construction of Dev Sthan, Ghat, and reservoirs. Sushri Sonal Mansingh, Shri Krishnavandan Ji Maharaj, Prof. Chandrakala Padia etc. also addressed the programme and narrated memories of Devi Ahilya Mata. Mayor Shri Pushyamitra Bhargava gave the welcome speech. A book based on the life of Lokmata Ahilya Bai was also released by the guests.
