Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, Union Minister Shri Yadav, and other public representatives plant saplings in the BSF range of Indore.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Union Forest and Environment Minister Shri Bhupendra Yadav participated in a large-scale tree plantation program in the BSF Range area in Indore as part of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. They planted saplings in memory of their mothers. Dr. Yadav planted a Banyan sapling in honor of his late mother, Smt. Leelabai Shri Poonamchand ji Yadav. Similarly, Union Minister Shri Yadav planted mango saplings in memory of his late mother, Smt. Santra Yadav. Urban Administration and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya also participated, planting a mango sapling in memory of his late mother, Smt. Ayodhya Devi Vijayvargiya.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized the long-standing environmental significance of Indore and Ujjain, highlighting that Indore is the origin of seven rivers, including the Kshipra. Addressing a massive plantation programme in Indore, he noted that the city holds a unique identity both nationally and globally and aims to be the top city in cleanliness and greenery. In response to Prime Minister Shri Modi’s “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, saplings are being planted across the country. Dr. Yadav praised the efforts of the Union Forest and Environment Minister, which led to Madhya Pradesh acquiring leopards, a source of state pride. He remarked on India’s tradition of nature worship, referencing Vedic beliefs that value the environmental importance of lakes, ponds and trees. Dr. Yadav reaffirmed Indore’s commitment to becoming a green and clean city, with the entire community united in this effort.

Union Forest and Environment Minister Shri Bhupendra Yadav highlighted the Prime Minister’s “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, which aims to plant 140 crore saplings across the country. He noted the recent extreme heat, with temperatures reaching 45 to 50 degrees, and discussed how human development and the construction of concrete cities have led to the destruction of the earth’s greenery. Despite technological progress, nature provides essential resources such as food, water, and medicinal elements. Shri Yadav emphasized the need to honor both our biological mothers and Mother Earth, who sustains us, by committing to a greener planet. He reminded everyone that the earth belongs to all living beings and urged every citizen to plant trees under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. He commended Madhya Pradesh’s tree plantation efforts and praised Indore’s initiative to become both a green and clean city. During the event, Union Minister Shri Yadav and Chief Minister Dr. Yadav were honored with mementos, a Pagdi, and an Angavastra.

Urban Administration and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya stated that Indore’s green coverage will be significantly increased. He mentioned that, in addition to planting 51 lakh plants, special efforts will be made to ensure their conservation. Minister Shri Vijayvargiya noted that various social organizations and institutions are taking responsibility for conserving these saplings. The campaign is being effectively implemented in Indore with active public participation. He expressed confidence that Indore will become the leading city in green coverage.

On this occasion, Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silavat, Mayor Shri Pushyamitra Bhargava, MP Shri Shankar Lalwani, MLA Shri Golu Shukla, Shri Madhu Verma, Shri Ramesh Mendola, District Panchayat President Smt. Reena Malviya, Shri Krishna Murari Moghe, Shri Gaurav Ranadive, Shri Chintu Verma, etc. dignitaries were present.

Divisional Commissioner Shri Deepak Singh, Collector Shri Ashish Singh, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shri Shivam Verma, BSF IG CSWT Shri B.S. Rawat, Inspector General Assistant Training Center BSF Shri Ashwin Kumar Sharma along with officers and a large number of women and environment lovers were present in the program.
