Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri Prahlad Patel, along with other public representatives, also joined the discussion from various locations.

Activities carried out in the districts: at a glance

• Under the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan started in the state on June 5, an initiative has been taken to plant 11.5 lakh saplings equal to the population of the district in Mandla district. Out of the 5 thousand works going on under MNREGA, about one thousand such works have been identified which are related to water conservation. About 500 check dams are being constructed by the Forest Department, which cost Rs 1.5 crore.

• Chief Minister Dr. Yadav announced the establishment of a designated area near the ponds in Jabalpur for the disposal of worship materials. He also mentioned inspecting Gaddha and surrounding areas on Monday, commending the water conservation efforts in the region of Veerangana Rani Durgavati.

• Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that information about donors should also be revealed. The person who made a secret donation of Rs 2.5 crore for the college in Makaronia area of ​​Sagar district should also be honoured. Those involved in water conservation and providing land for a lake in an area of​​two acres on private land should also be honoured. Information was given about the beautification of the lake of Sagar city in Sagar district and other works.

• Commendable work is being done for water conservation in Burhanpur district. Tapti Ghat has been cleaned. Boards have been installed on the wells. It is written on the boards ‘Mujhe sambhalo, mein apko sambhal lunga.’ Former Minister Smt. Archana Chitnis said that there is a proposal to drain the water collected on the roofs of about 5 thousand houses during the rainy season into the ground. Jal Mandir logo will be placed on such houses. The work of naming 104 Amrit Sarovars and determining their guardians is also being done in the district. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav congratulated the public representatives and officials of Burhanpur district for these works.

• A decision has been taken to renovate one water structure each in all 85 wards in Indore. It was told in the video conference that the work of developing and promoting the source of rivers has also started. Similarly, efforts are being made to supply rainwater to step-wells and remove encroachments from these areas. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav gave instructions to publicize the origins related to rivers and the history of the surrounding areas.

• Initiative has been taken to provide water harvesting work in school buildings and the facility of carrying silt to the general public in Khargone district. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that these activities are commendable.

• Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri Prahlad Patel said that work is being done to plant saplings on the banks of water sources and to bring out information about the origin of rivers and to make the public aware of water conservation. Shri Patel said that he has inspected the origins of the Palakmati, Dhasan, Bebas, and Bina rivers in Raisen and other districts.

• It was informed in the video conference that the work of deepening of ponds had started in Ujjain from the month of May itself. The river ghats are being cleaned. About 400 check dams are being built. Water conservation works related to the stepwell of Geeta Colony and Govardhan Sagar is being implemented soon. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also gave instructions for the renovation of the ancient Ahilya stepwell built by Devi Ahilya in Tarana. Information was given by the Horticulture Department in the video conference that preparations have been made to plant four and a half lakh saplings of different species in the state. Registration work is also being done on the portal. Horticulture activities will be carried out in a total area of ​​2250 acres with the participation of 2200 farmers. This work of plantation will be done in the months of July and August.
