1000 home-stay soon to promote rural tourism

Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri Prahlad Patel has called upon the Panchayat representatives to perform their duties with full dedication. Rights will come naturally.

Shri Patel said that the state government is striving to ensure that every Panchayat has a community hall and every Panchayat has its own building. He said that every Panchayat can design development plans of their respective Panchayats efficiently and intelligently. He said that Panchayat Raj is the spirit of working together for public welfare. He said that soon orders will be issued to send to Upadhyaksha – Vice Presidents for their mandatory consent.

Shri Patel was addressing workshop organized by Panchayat and Rural Development Department and German organization GIZ on the topic Self-reliant Panchayats – Prosperous Madhya Pradesh here today.

He urged the Janapad Vice Presidents to make a list of works and activities in which they think their opinion and consent are required. He said that in order to make the Panchayats strong and self-reliant, the state government is making efforts to strengthen their internal administrative systems. Strengthening the administrative systems at the lower level is necessary, he added.

Shri Patel said that optimum use of the budget and available financial resources under various schemes should be made. He said that the ultimate objective is to make people happy and ensure their welfare.

Addressing the workshop, Tourism Minister Shri Dharmendra Singh Lodhi said that in order to introduce the tourists to the rich rural culture of the state under the Rural Tourism Project, home stays will be constructed for which 117 villages have been selected. It will increase the income of the villages through tourism. The government aims to build 1000 homestays. For this, 60 percent grant will be given in tribal areas and 40 percent grant in non-tribal areas. Tourists can enjoy village tours, rural sports, comfortable stays, local food, folk arts and handicrafts.
