Energy Minister reaches Sheopur on the instructions of CM Dr. Yadav

On the instructions of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Energy Minister Shri Pradyuman Singh Tomar reached Sheopur and met the family members of the deceased in the boat accident and consoled them. Minister Shri Tomar also attended the last rites.

Energy Minister Shri Tomar has expressed grief over the heart-wrenching incident of the death of seven people in an accident in Seep river in Sheopur district of Madhya Pradesh, when a boat full of 11 people sank. He said that the state government will provide financial assistance to the families of all the deceased in the accident by providing ex-gratia amount as per rules. Shri Tomar assured the bereaved families that the Madhya Pradesh government stands with them in this hour of grief.

It is noteworthy that as per the instructions of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the Energy Minister had postponed all his pre-scheduled programmes and left for Sheopur on Saturday night itself. Minister Shri Tomar reached the District Hospital of Sheopur after inspecting the incident site. He reached the Mortuary House (PM House) of the District Hospital and inquired about the entire accident from Collector Shri Lokesh Kumar Jangid and Superintendent of Police Shri Abhishek Anand and directed to provide immediate financial assistance to the victims’ family.

It is noteworthy that 7 people including 5 children have died in this accident. Their bodies have been recovered by the SDRF team after a three-hour rescue operation. One child is still missing. The search is continuing on Sunday as well.
