Smt. Neelam Toppo to plant mango sapling as tribute to her mother-in-law
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday personally handed over the 2,00,000th sapling of the mega sapling distribution drive being conducted in Jashpur under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Abhiyan” to Smt. Neelam Toppo, a beneficiary of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, at Bandarchua.
It is worth mentioning that free saplings are being distributed to the beneficiaries of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana to promote extensive tree plantation in Jashpur district under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. This initiative was launched by the Chief Minister on July 14 from Duldula. He also distributed certificates to the beneficiaries under this drive.
Smt. Toppo expressed her intention to plant the mango sapling in her home’s courtyard as a tribute to her mother-in-law. She also shared her appreciation for the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, which provides her with a monthly financial assistance of Rs 1,000. She recently used part of this amount to buy notebooks, a school bag, and other study materials for her son, Ishant Toppo, a sixth-grade student.
Smt. Toppo joyfully stated “This is the first time I have been able to buy school supplies for my child with my own money, thanks to the scheme. I use the funds from Mahtari Vandan Yojana for daily needs and save some for emergencies.”
