The state government has extended the due date of short-term crop loans distributed in the procurement 2023 season only to farmers related to procurement and fixed it as May 31, 2024. Earlier this date was fixed as 30th April.
Instructions have also been issued regarding the continuation of the scheme of providing short-term crop loans to farmers at zero percent interest rate in the year 2023-24 under the Interest Subsidy Scheme on Short-Term Loans to Farmers through Government Banks. The Cooperative Department has issued orders to extend the due date of short-term crop loans distributed under the scheme in Kharif 2023 season from March 28, 2024 to April 30, 2024.
Keeping in view the delay in the farmers receiving the due amount of the acquired crop due to technical reasons etc., it has been decided by the state government that only those farmers who have sold their crops like – wheat, Gram, lentils, mustard etc. on support price till the fixed due date of April 30, 2024 and who have not received payment for the amount of sale of their produce and for the remaining farmers who sold the said crops till the prescribed last date of procurement, under the zero percent interest rate scheme, the due date of Kharif 2023 season has been extended from April 30, 2024 to May 31, 2024.
