Patna, March 1 (IANS) The Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation (CPI-ML) will stage a rally at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan on Sunday with the goal of ‘Badlo Bihar’ (Transform Bihar).

The objective of the rally is to show strength ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.

The idea is to address pressing issues affecting various communities across the state, including landless individuals facing eviction due to land surveys, citizens burdened by increased electricity bills and the implementation of prepaid meters, Dalits and minorities subjected to religious violence and caste oppression, women workers advocating for basic rights and fair wages, students, youth, and women affected by microfinance companies.

CPI-ML State Secretary Kunal stated, “This rally would serve as a “People’s Assembly” for Bihar, providing a platform for individuals from all communities to voice their concerns and help shape the agenda for the upcoming state elections.”

In preparation for the event, Patna has seen an influx of participants from regions such as Seemanchal and Champaran, travelling in groups and caravans to the venue.

The city, especially Gandhi Maidan, has been adorned with placards, flex banners, and hoardings highlighting the demands of various agitating groups.

Cultural programmes are planned for the night preceding the rally to foster unity and clarify the movement’s objectives.

The CPI-ML has also been active on social media, forming dedicated teams to amplify the rally’s message and ensure widespread awareness.

Party leaders, including General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya and senior leader Swadesh Bhattacharya, along with representatives from neighbouring states like Jharkhand, have arrived in Patna to participate in the event.

This rally follows a series of initiatives by the CPI-ML, including the “Badlo Bihar” in the Seemanchal region, aimed at mobilising support for systemic transformation in Bihar.

Given the anticipated large turnout, attendees are advised to plan their travel accordingly and stay updated through official CPI-ML communication channels.

The Mahajutan (Grand Gathering) at Gandhi Maidan, Patna, is witnessing massive participation from a wide range of workers, unions, and social justice movements.

Bihar State ASHA Workers Union, Jeevika Cadre Union, Contract Honorarium Service Workers Union, Anganwadi Workers Union, Vidyalaya Cooks Union, Tadi Mazdoor Sangh, Safai Karamchari Union, Ambedkar Justice Forum, Pasmanda Muslim Mahaz, Social Justice Movement, Vanchit Bahujan Morcha, Justice Democratic Forum and others are expected to participate in the event.
