MP receives 11 awards in “Spark Award Ceremony”
Ujjain Municipal Corporation gets first prize in loan performance category
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has expressed happiness over Madhya Pradesh getting 11 awards in various categories at the Systematic Progressive Analytical Realtime Ranking Award (SPARK) ceremony in the “Steps towards Excellence” program at New Delhi.
Dr. Yadav congratulated the team of the Urban Development and Housing Department. Expressing happiness over the achievements, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that we all will achieve similar achievements with continuous coordinated efforts in the development of the state.
Principal Secretary Urban Development and Housing Shri Neeraj Mandloi received the award on behalf of Madhya Pradesh from Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Shri Manohar Lal Khattar and Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Shri Tokhan Sahu in New Delhi on July 18.
Madhya Pradesh received a total of 11 awards in the “Steps towards Excellence” programme. Out of these, 4 awards have been received by Madhya Pradesh for the excellent performance in India and 7 other bodies received in different categories.
PM Madhya Pradesh Swanidhi Yojana has got the first position in both the Best Performing State (Loan Performance-Large State) and Best Performing State (Innovation and Best Practices) categories. Similarly, in the DeNational Urban Livelihood Mission scheme, Madhya Pradesh stands first in two categories. These include the categories “Best Performing State under Best Innovation and Technology” and “Best Social Infrastructure”. Madhya Pradesh secured first position in PM Street Vendor Scheme by distributing more than 11 lakh 95 thousand loans across the country.
As many as 8 lakh 38 thousand street vendors are transacting digitally under the PM Street Vendor Scheme. These street vendors have received cash amounting to about Rs 21 crore from the bank. From the year 2021, funds were distributed in 1 lakh 99 thousand loan cases under PM Street Vendor Scheme. In 2022, the amount was distributed in 1 lakh 70 thousand loan cases. In 2023, the amount was distributed in 4 lakh 84 thousand loan cases.
Presently Madhya Pradesh has achieved 101.26 percent against the total target by distributing. This year, maximum number of cases have been approved and the amount has been distributed in Madhya Pradesh. Under PM Swa Nidhi Yojana, loans of Rs 10, 20 and 50 thousand have been approved to street vendors phase wise.
Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya congratulated everyone for the excellent work done by the departmental officers and employees. He said that these awards received by the Urban Development Department for excellent work will boost everyone’s morale and inspire them to perform more vigorously. It is noteworthy that the urban bodies of the state have also received 7 awards in various categories. Among these, urban bodies Ujjain, Khargone and Sarani were awarded under PM Self-Fund and urban bodies Jabalpur, Sidhi, Mandsaur and Itarsi were awarded under De-NULM scheme. 2 urban street vendors and 2 support groups benefiting from PM Swa-Nidhi Yojana were also honored.
Under PM Swanidhi Yojana, Ujjain Municipal Corporation received the first prize for best performance in the ‘loan performance’ category among local bodies with population of 1 to 10 lakh. Sarani Municipal Council has received the third prize in this category among cities having a population of less than 1 lakh. Khargone Nagar Palika received the third prize for best performance in the category ‘Achievement in prosperity from self-funding’ among local bodies with a population 1 to 10 lakh. Under the DE-NULM scheme, Jabalpur has been awarded in the best urban local body category with population more than 10 lakh.
Sidhi has been given second prize, Mandsaur and Itarsi have been given third prize for the implementation of De-NULM scheme. 2 urban street vendors and 2 support groups benefiting from PM Swa-Nidhi Yojana were also honoured.
