Water awareness programmes will be organised in the respective villages till March 13
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will flag off the Ken-Betwa Jal Kalash Yatra on March 11 at 10 am at Kushabhau Thakre Convention Hall. Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsi Silawat will be specially present on this occasion. Water awareness programmes will be organised in the respective villages from March 11 to March 13. Under this, Kalash Yatras and various programmes will be organised in 3614 possible beneficiary villages of 17 districts of Ken-Betwa Link Project and Parvati-Kalisindh- Chambal Link Project.
Additional Chief Secretary Water Resources Dr. Rajesh Rajora said that Kalash Yatra will be taken out on the main roads in all the potentially benefitting villages, in which maximum number of villagers will participate, including distinguished citizens, public representatives, farmers, women and students. Street plays focusing on the importance of Ken-Betwa Link Project and Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link Project and the need for water, bhajan presentation by bhajan troupe and various cultural programmes will also be organised in these villages. Besides, painting, essay, sports and debate competitions based on water will be organised in the schools of these villages. Water-based wall writing and other publicity will also be carried out in these villages.
Films focusing on the benefits of the project and the importance of water will also be screened through mobile vehicles in all these villages. Participation of self-help groups and voluntary organisations will be ensured in the programmes.
