Advetisment

New Delhi, Feb 13 (IANS) The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) of Delhi’s South District on Thursday ordered an interim order in the favour of students whose admit cards were withheld by a school in the national capital over fee payment dispute.

After the CWC received a complaint from the parents of six children studying in class 10th at Saket’s Apeejay School, it directed the Principal to issue “admit cards to all the six students with immediate effect”, opining that the fee issue may be settled afterward.

It ordered the authorities in the Directorate of Education (DOE) to look into the matter and facilitate parents and children.

In its order, the CWC noted that the matter is also sub-judiced before the Delhi High Court but issued “immediate action-intervention to protect and save student’s whole academic year” and to safeguard them from a traumatic mental situation.

“Today we are in receipt of a complaint from the six children’s parents (List is attached herewith) from Apeejay School Saket, studying in class 10 and school authority is not issuing admit card for appearing in the upcoming board exams on 15-02-2025 on issue of fee deposit. [So] in children’s best interest following direction are issued:- the Apeejay school Saket Principal/Authority is directed to issue admit cards to all the six students with immediate effect and settle fee issue afterward and the DOE authority is also directed to look into the matter and facilitate parents & children on priority basis,” the CWC ordered.

Meanwhile, the Department of Education (DOE) has instructed Apeejay School, J Block, Saket, and Apeejay School, Sheikh Sarai (Panchsheel Park), New Delhi, to issue admit cards for all students.

Harish Chaudhary, a member of the Naya Samaj Parent Association, informed IANS that the parents of these students will meet the CWC officials again on Friday morning if the issue remains unresolved.

He mentioned that a total of 13 students from both schools mentioned in the DOE order have been impacted.
