Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said the state government is popularizing science. Science plays an important role in socio-economic development. Science and Technology Council is promoting scientific activities. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that on the announcement of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, it has been decided to celebrate National Space Day at Ujjain on August 23, 2024. Research and development activities are being conducted under the Department of Science and Technology. He directed that renowned scientists should be invited to division level fairs. Talented children should also be associated with fairs.

\Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was reviewing plans for organizing division level science fair and National Space Day at Ujjain. Chief Secretary Smt. Veera Rana, Additional Chief Secretary Chief Minister’s Office Dr. Rajesh Rajoura and senior departmental officers were present.

Increase in IT parks

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that an e-service portal has been created for all departments. Providing benefits of various schemes to the eligible beneficiaries using IT enabled services is an important task. He asked the concerning authorities to take measures for effective control of cyber crime using science and technology. Increase the number of IT parks, efforts should also be made to increase income. He said that there is a scope of spice industry in Neemuch.

Dr. Yadav said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi, with the success of Chandrayaan-3 with the landing of Vikram lander on the lunar surface on 23 August 2023 and the deployment of Pragyan rover, India became the fourth country for successfully landing on the lunar surface. India has also joined the elite group of space pioneer nations to land near the south pole of the Moon. The outcome of this historic mission will benefit mankind for years to come.

Ujjain has scientific importance

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Science and Technology Department should be visible with its activities on the ground. He said that Ujjain has scientific importance. Efforts should be made to make Ujjain a research centre. Science tourism should be promoted. Various posts should be filled for running the research center of Dongla. Madhya Pradesh should be made a major research center in the field of defence. He said that engineering colleges should function like IITs. The activities for the proposed Science City in Ujjain should be launched quickly.

Upgradation of planetarium

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that an environment should be created to increase interest in science. Science activities should be increased at divisional centres. The building of the Science Center has been completed in Ujjain. The planetarium in Ujjain has been upgraded. Public representatives should be made to inspect it. The automation of Astronomical Observatory Dongla is in the final stage. Rural Technology Application Center has been prepared in Obedullaganj.

Dr. Yadav said that Arogya Expo should be organized along with the Investors Summit being organized in the state. To develop scientific attitude among children, Space on Wheels bus should be inspected. Drone technology should also be used to maintain law and order. Organize conferences to promote research.

Science fairs will be organized at the divisional level jointly with the Science and Technology Council, Higher Education, Technical Education and School Education Department. Youth will get possibilities and opportunities in the field of astronomy, new science, space and technology. It is proposed to organize a science fair at the divisional level in coordination with ISRO and other scientific organizations. Events will be organized in 10 divisional headquarters on subjects like new and ancient scientific methods, astronomy, space and science technology etc., so that scientific consciousness can be communicated and developed among the public. Through this fair, scientists, students, teachers, innovations and public will benefit scientifically and employment can be created in new fields of science. Programs will be organized under Space Day on 20-21 August 2024 by MPCAT in collaboration with Department of Higher Education, Technical Education, School Education, IIT, Indore, IIT and Gandhinagar.
