Comprehensive Investigation to Be Conducted into the Incident
Minister Smt. Sampatia Uike reaches the spot and consoles the affected family
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident in Chhindwara, where a young man killed eight members of his family before committing suicide. Dr. Yadav conveyed his condolences and assured that he stands with the family during this difficult time. He announced that the state government will provide full assistance to the victim’s family, including a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the deceased’s family and Rs 5 lakh for the treatment of the injured child. Furthermore, Chief Minister Yadav has ordered a detailed investigation into the incident.
On the instructions of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, Public Health Engineering Minister Smt. Sampatia Uike reached Chhindwara today and visited the incident site at Bodal Kachar village to meet the family members. Minister Smt. Uike consoled the affected family members.
Additional Chief Secretary Shri Vinod Kumar, I.G. Shri Anil Kushwaha, D.I.G. Shri Sachin Atulkar, Jabalpur Division Commissioner Shri Abhay Kumar Verma, Collector Shri Sheelendra Singh, Superintendent of Police Shri Manish Khatri were present.
It may be noted that two married sisters of the family survived the accident, as they were in their in-laws’ place. PHE Minister Smt. Uike handed over cheques of Rs 10,000 each for the cremation of the deceased, Rs 50,000 each as immediate relief, and Rs 50,000 for the immediate treatment of the injured, to the sisters of the victim’s family. After the post-mortem, the last rites of the dead were performed late in the evening.
It is worth mentioning here that, a youth killed 8 members of his family and hanged himself last night at Bodal Kachar village of Tamia block of Chhindwara district. In the preliminary investigation, the deceased accused has been described as mentally disturbed.
