Chief Minister directs action on pending bill for constable’s kidney transplant costs

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai directed senior officials of the department concerned to take appropriate action regarding the payment of the pending bill for the kidney transplant of Constable Shri Bharat Lal Bareth during the Jandarshan programme held at the Chief Minister’s residence office today. Constable Shri Bareth, who met with the Chief Minister, stated that he had been suffering from a serious kidney disease. An amount of Rs 3.05 lakh was disbursed from the Chief Minister Relief Fund to Apollo Hospital Bilaspur for his treatment. Post the kidney transplant, additional costs were incurred for medications, and a biopsy of the transplanted kidney due to antibody-mediated reactions, bringing the total treatment expenses to Rs 7.59 lakh. Considering his physical and financial circumstances, Constable Shri Bareth requested Chief Minister Shri Sai to cover the remaining amount of Rs 4.55 lakh from government funds. Showing compassion, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai assured that appropriate action would be taken as per the rules regarding the outstanding medical bill of Constable Shri Bareth.
