Chief Electoral Officer takes stock of preparations for counting of votes
Today, Chief Electoral Officer (Madhya Pradesh) Shri Anupam Rajan today, visited Government Women’s Polytechnic College, Sehore. He took stock of the preparations being made for counting of votes of 4 assemblies of the district falling under 3 parliamentary constituencies on 4th June under the Lok Sabha Elections-2024. took. Chief Electoral Officer Shri Rajan was given detailed information by Collector and District Election Officer Shri Praveen Singh about the arrangements and preparations being made for the counting of votes.
Chief Electoral Officer Shri Rajan visited the counting rooms made assembly-wise and took stock of the preparations. He also saw the preparations being made for the counting of postal ballots and the security arrangements of the strong room. He took information about the counting table, the number of staff engaged in counting, security arrangements, the number of postal ballots, etc. He also saw the CCTV live display of the strong room for the representatives of the election candidates in the counting venue premises and the arrangements for monitoring the strong room from the room itself. Chief Electoral Officer Shri Rajan also gave necessary instructions for better arrangements.
Chief Electoral Officer Shri Rajan instructed that the counting of votes for the Lok Sabha elections will start from 8 am on June 4, 2024. He gave instructions to ensure that there is a continuous supply of electricity on the day of counting and that the counting work is not affected due to any reason. He said that all the arrangements at the counting venue should operate smoothly.
During the inspection, Sehore SP Shri Mayank Awasthi, Additional Collector Shri Vrindavan Singh, ASP Shri Geetesh Garg, Joint Collector and Deputy District Election Officer Shri Anand Singh Rajawat and other officers were present.
