He highlighted that, for the first time in the state, a budget exceeding Rs 3 lakh 60 thousand crore has been presented. A notable feature of this budget is the absence of any new taxes. Instead of reducing allocations, Funding for departments have been increased. The budget, themed “Vikasit Bharat-Vikasit Madhya Pradesh,” aims to double its size in the next five years while ensuring GDP growth aligning with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision. It caters to all sections of society, particularly the youth, poor, women, and farmers. Emphasizing advancements in new technology, including IT, the budget includes a long-term plan to train and encourage more youth to join administrative services. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav congratulated the people of the state on the 2024-25 budget while addressing the media at the Assembly’s media center.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav announced that the budget includes special provisions for students residing in hostels. He highlighted that adequate funds have been allocated to boost milk production in the state and to support cow shelters. The budget for industrial development has been increased by 40 percent. Significant provisions have also been made for self-help groups, including those involved in heavy industries, MSMEs, and cottage industries. Emphasis will be placed on permanent infrastructure projects such as schools, colleges, hospitals, roads, and expressways. The budget also includes provisions for direct connectivity between Mahakaushal, Chambal, Vindhya, Malwa, and the capital, ensuring adequate arrangements and financial liquidity for this purpose.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav announced that the upcoming Simhastha will be organized on a grand scale in the state. The event, traditionally held in Ujjain, is known for its grandeur and divinity. To ensure adequate arrangements at the Devasthans in 13 districts across the Indore and Ujjain divisions, a token amount of Rs 500 crore has been allocated. Dr. Yadav also emphasized the importance of senior citizens, referring to them as the backbone of the state. A special scheme is being introduced to support them, particularly the parents of youth working in other states or abroad. In urban areas, societies with comprehensive facilities, including medical care for senior citizens, will be encouraged. The state government will support the private sector initiatives aimed at this cause.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav noted that the state has welcomed a record number of tourists, with abundant activities in religious tourism, heritage tourism, and forest tourism. Additionally, funds have been allocated to promote education and health tourism. The state’s production capacity of millets is the highest in the country, and measures have been taken to further encourage this. A “Shri Anna Research Centre” is being established in Dindori to support these efforts.
Similarly, under pulses, a Gram Research Center will be opened in Malwa and a Mustard Research Center will be opened in Chambal. To ensure that crimes related to cows are not encouraged, along with taking strict action, the state government has declared this year as Cow Protection Year. As a result of the public welfare schemes of the state government, more than 2 crore 30 lakh people have come out of the poverty line. The state government will continue to work for the better life of the common people by implementing employment-oriented schemes in the state.
