Bigg Boss fame Devoleena Bhattacharjee to play journalist in the film “Kooki”

Bigg Boss fame Devoleena Bhattacharjee is well-known for playing the naive Gopi Bahu in the television series “Saath Nibhana Saathiya.” In the upcoming film “Kooki,” which opens in theaters on June 28, Devoleena Bhattacharjee will play a journalist. Mumbai hosted the music premiere of producer Junmoni Devi Khound’s movie, which tackles a touchy subject like rape. Great performers including Debolina Bhattacharya, Ritisha Kound, Reena Rani, Asha Chotani, Bandip Sharma, Ujjwal Barua, director Pranab J. Decca, producer Dr. Junmoni Devi Khound, sound designer Amrit Pritam, composer Tapan Jyoti Dutta, lyricist Dr. Sagar, singer Krutika Sharma, and distributor Manoj Nandwana were also in attendance on this occasion.

Speaking to the media here, producer Dr. Junmoni Devi Khound stated that, “Although rape makes headlines for the media, nobody understands the trauma the victim experiences on a physical and mental level. Although rape is not less serious than murder because the victim of rape continues to die every moment even after being saved, murder is still regarded as the largest and most horrible crime in the nation. I created the idea and narrative because I am an advocate as well. Assam is where I’m from, and similar things happen there as well as around the nation. The victim is entitled to a dignified existence. Initially, I intended to create this narrative in Assamese, but after talking with director Pranab, we decided that Hindi would be a better choice because it is the national language of India, the majority of Indians speak and understand Hindi, and this is a national issue. Artists were chosen based on the plot and persona. Every artist has put their all into their work. After receiving positive reviews at the Cannes Film Festival’s Film Market (Marché du Film), we will be releasing this movie in theatres on June 28.”

It is also a coincidence that Devoleena, who belongs to a Bengali family, was born and brought up in Assam, she also received her primary education from Assam and now she is working with this Assam based producer. She says, “I’m acting like a journalist in Kooki. To find out what I did in this underage girl’s rape case, you will need to see the movie. It has also been demonstrated via my character that sometimes people can’t accomplish their goals despite their best efforts. A law-abiding individual fear breaking the signal, but a criminal does not fear using the law as a weapon.”

“Kooki” is made under the banner of Niri Media OPC Pvt Ltd, the film focuses on the theme of human emotions. Lyrics written by Avinash Chauhan, Ibson Lal Barua and Dr. Sagar, music composed by Pallab Talukdar, Saurav Mahant and Tapan Jyoti Dutta add further depth to the story. Sunidhi Chauhan, Divya Kumar, Mohammad Faiz and Kritika Sharma are singers. The film is being distributed by Jai Viratra Entertainment Limited.
