Awareness for Basic Life Support in Remote Areas is Vital: Governor Shri Patel

Governor addresses the closing ceremony of the 20th National Conference of Emergency Medicine

Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel emphasized the critical importance of the first hour, often referred to as the “golden hour,” in emergency medicine. He highlighted that during this crucial period, swift and precise medical intervention can save numerous lives. Therefore, raising awareness about basic life support is especially vital in remote rural areas. Additionally, Governor Patel stressed the need for health workers to stay updated with the latest emergency medicine protocols. He delivered these remarks during the closing ceremony of the 20th National Conference of Emergency Medicine.

Governor Shri Patel congratulated AIIMS and the organizers for their efforts in enhancing emergency medical services and fostering medical innovations. He noted that the conference, through the brainstorming sessions of scholars and experts, has yielded valuable solutions and suggestions for the improvement of emergency medicine. He urged that these insights be shared with society as widely as possible.

Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel said that healthcare, especially emergency healthcare, is a challenge for a country with a huge population like India. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, efforts are being made on a large scale to solve the challenges of emergency health care. Services like advanced life support, basic life support, ambulance etc. are being made better. The state government is also working towards establishing new centres of emergency medical service and ultramodern medical service.

Cyclothon is an effective medium of public awareness

Governor Shri Patel said that cyclothon is an effective medium to make people aware in emergency situations. He appreciated this initiative of AIIMS Bhopal. Governor Shri Patel expressed hope that the organisation of cyclothon will be successful in spreading positivity in the society towards emergency medicine. Along with this, M India-2024 will also prove to be a milestone in the field of emergency medicine.

MP Bhopal Shri Alok Sharma congratulated AIIMS Bhopal for organising an event based on basic life support and efforts for public awareness of life saving.

In the programme, Governor Shri Patel was felicitated by presenting a shawl, shrifal and a memento. Executive Director Dr. Ajay Singh gave the welcome speech. Dr. Mohammad Yunus gave information about the outline of the conference and cyclothon. Chairman AIIMS Bhopal Dr. Sunil Malik expressed his views on the subject of the conference. Dr. Bhupeshwari Patel proposed vote of thanks. Prof. Rajneesh Joshi, scholar doctors, cyclothon participants were present in the ceremony.
