Chief Electoral Officer Shri Rajan issues instructions

All departments should ensure to make poll related arrangements within the time limit. Nodal officers appointed for election related preparations in all departments should continuously monitor these arrangements. Chief Electoral Officer Shri Anupam Rajan gave these instructions today while reviewing the preparations for the election related arrangements of various departments.

While reviewing the preparations for the work being done by the Home Department, Shri Rajan said that in case any security personnel meets with an accident while on election duty, the provisioned amount should be deposited in his account as soon as possible. He told to prepare police deployment plan soon. He told to send daily report on law and order and ensure ban on sale of liquor on voting and counting day.

Shri Rajan said that mandatory facilities should be provided in the polling stations established in schools and colleges. Make arrangements for wheel-chairs for disabled voters. He said that supply of petrol and diesel should be ensured during the elections so that the vehicles of security agencies do not have to go far for fuel. Workers in all private institutions should also get paid leave during voting days.

Air ambulance will be in Jabalpur and helicopter in Balaghat

Shri Rajan said that in Balaghat, Mandla and Dindori districts, air ambulance and helicopter facilities will be made available to take the employees/security forces engaged on election duty to hospitals with specialist facilities in case of serious illness or accident.

Chief Electoral Officer Shri Rajan said that availability of water should be ensured in all polling stations. Ensure uninterrupted power supply on the day of voting and counting. Electric wires should not be left dangling in the roads. Printing of election related forms and books should be done within the time limit. Public Works Department and Rural Development Department should get the works like access roads to polling stations repaired within the time limit.

Narhari, Secretary General Administration Shri Anil Suchari, Commissioner Excise Shri Abhijeet Aggarwal, Secretary Home Shri Gaurav Rajput, Secretary Law and Legislative Affairs Shri Vikas Bhatele, Additional Secretary Revenue Shri Chandrashekhar Balimbe and officials of various departments.
