Mumbai, Aug 15 (IANS) Television actors– Ankit Gupta, Rutuja Bagwe, Kanwar Dhillon and Neha Harsora have reminisced about their sweet childhood memories of the Independence Day celebrations.
On the occasion of 78th Independence Day, Ankit, who plays Ranvijay in the show ‘Maati Se Bandhi Dor’ shared: “In childhood, we celebrated Independence Day in school; it marked a day filled with happiness and joy. Over the years, we have comprehended the meaning of freedom and independence and the importance of this day, as there were several heroes who gave sacrifices, and due to their courage and bravery, India received independence, and it’s a day to remember those sacrifices.”
“I’ll be celebrating Independence Day with the residents of my building; there will be flag hoisting and sweets distribution, and remember all those heroes of our country who brought independence. I think from the tricolor flag, the color white describes me the best; it is the color of peace, as I believe in living life peacefully. Happy Independence Day to all,” he added.
Essaying the role of Vaiju in ‘Maati Se Bandhi Dor’, Rutuja said: “Independence Day would be a day to go back in time and recall the bravery of all those heroes who fought for our freedom and independence and emerged victorious. Being from a military school, we celebrated Independence Day with zeal and excitement; we also took part in activities like parades and rifle shooting, and I miss those days. The white color from the tricolor flag is what I feel I relate to, as it depicts peace and kindness, and I believe in it.”
Kanwar, who is seen as Sachin in ‘Udne Ki Aasha’ shared that freedom and independence are two important factors for him as an individual in order to live with peace.
“This Independence Day, I’ll celebrate the day with my family. The color that describes me the best from the tricolor flag would be saffron, as it defines strength and courage. I relate to these qualities as I am strong mentally, emotionally, and physically; I do not get afraid of things easily, and everyone around me would vouch for that color for me,” he said.
Neha, who portrays the character of Sailee in ‘Udne Ki Aasha’ said: “Independence Day marks the sacrifices that were done in order to attain freedom, and Independence Day is to rejoice that valour and bravery. This year, I’ll be celebrating it with my family. Every individual should respect the freedom that we have received post the struggles that have come along with it. The color from the tricolor flag that describes me would be the color white that stands for peace, and in real life too, I believe in it.”
The show airs on Star Plus.
