Pahadgaon and Kumeli Waterfall to receive major upgrades for tourism growth

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the government is making consistent efforts to boost the tourism sector. In Surajpur district, efforts are underway to upgrade the Kumeli Waterfall area in the Ramanujnagar Janpad and the Pahadgaon region in the Surajpur Janpad.

Pahadgaon, situated near Ambikapur Road and Silfili in the Surajpur Janpad, features a picturesque lake formed by the construction of Khokhania Dam. This lake, nestled between the mountains, offers a tranquil and scenic environment. To boost tourism at this site, the administration is improving access roads and providing essential amenities. For the development of the area, measures include ensuring tourist safety, providing food and drinking water and toilet facilities, constructing pagoda huts, and implementing waste management. Besides, plans are underway to introduce boating facilities on the lake.

The district administration has also instructed officials to focus on the development of the Kumeli Waterfall area. Instructions for Kumeli Waterfall include implementing waste management, improving security with warning boards, ensuring drinking water availability, constructing pagoda huts, and repairing solar lights and toilets. Located approximately 30 kilometers from Surajpur, Kumeli Waterfall is accessible via Ketka Road and Rajapur Road. This 50-foot waterfall, situated in the midst of dense forest, offers a breathtaking view, particularly during the rainy season.
