World Youth Skills Day – observed
Skill Development and Employment Minister Shri Gautam Tetwal flagged off ITI on Wheel at ITI Govindpura on World Youth Skills Day. This vehicle will reach remote locations and urban and rural areas, village choupals, haat-bazaars and local schools and promote and publicize ITI.
Shri Gautam Tetwal participated in various activities organised at Divisional ITI Govindpura on World Youth Skills Day and interacted with the students. Referring to the contribution of ITIs in the development of the country, he said that the skilled youth are contributing to the development of not only their family but also the country by becoming skillful in various trades. He said that World Youth Skills Day is an occasion to celebrate their achievements. The students of all government ITIs have made it more relevant by plantation and cleanliness programmes. While inaugurating the newly built production shop “MP Kaushal Corner” at ITI, Minister Shri Tetwal said that this innovative effort will be helpful in providing practical training and experience.
Shri Tetwal released the MP Skills World e-book and interacted with the candidates benefited in the UN Women and UNFPA programme. Innovations and various dimensions of skill development have been made available through digital medium through the e-book. This will benefit students.
Shri Tetwal unveiled the Hunar and Daksh mascot and the Made in ITI logo. This will give a distinct identity to the products of ITI and the work of the students will be recognised. Minister Shri Tetwal felicitated the students who received one gold, two silver, 4 bronze and 10 medallions of excellence in various trades in the National Skill Competition-2024 held in New Delhi.
Representatives of the establishments which employed ITI students in large numbers in their establishments under the Mukhyamantri Sikho-Kamao Yojana were also felicitated. Minister Shri Tetwal also felicitated the principals of ITI who did excellent and innovative work. Minister Shri Tetwal observed and appreciated the exhibition of useful and attractive products made by the students of ITI after training in various trades.
Secretary Skill Development and Employment Shri Raghuraj M.R. told the boy and girl students that your utility will increase only by becoming skilled as per the current requirement and solving the problems of the society with capability.
Director Skill Development Smt. Harshika Singh informed that the United Nations General Assembly (UNO) had declared 15th July 2014 as World Youth Skills Day to celebrate the importance of the strategy of providing skills to the youth for employment, work, entrepreneurship. The theme of World Youth Skills Day 2024 underlines the important role of youth in youth skills for peace and development, peace building and conflict resolution. Activities were organised in all the government ITIs of the state on 14th and 15th July. World Youth Skills Day was announced by the UNO in the year 2020.
CEO MPSSDEGV Shri Somesh Mishra, State Programme Officer UNFPA Shri Anurag Sonwalkar, State Head UN Woman Smt. Jyotitri Ray, Principal Divisional ITI Shri Shrikant Golait and a large number of students were present in the programme.
