There will be no shortage of funds for urban development: Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao

Shri Sao performs foundation stone laying and bhoomipujan for 94 development projects worth Rs 15 crore

Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration and Development Minister Shri Arun Sao laid the foundation stone and performed bhoomipujan for 94 development works worth Rs 14.73 crore aimed at development of the wards within the Municipal Corporation area under Beltara Assembly constituency. MLA Shri Sushant Shukla presided over the function held at the District Sports Complex of Bilaspur. These development initiatives have been sanctioned under the 15th Finance Commission, owing to the proactive efforts of Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sao and MLA Shri Shukla. The majority of the approved projects focus on the construction of CC roads, drains, and installation of street lights.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sao and MLA Shri Shukla participated in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign by planting neem saplings at the sports complex.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sao stated “For the first time in the last five years, we have received a huge amount of around Rs 15 crore for development projects. Our government is dedicated to the progress of urban areas, ensuring ample funds for city development. All projects will be executed in line with public expectations. Recently, I met Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Shri Manohar Lal Khattar regarding the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in urban areas. We look forward to additional allocations soon, enabling eligible individuals to obtain concrete housing.”

He urged everyone to participate in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign and stressed the importance of nurturing trees as they grow.

Presiding over the event, MLA Shri Sushant Shukla stated “Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao understands the challenges faced by our city. Gradually, all issues will be resolved, significantly improving our city’s condition.”

During the programme, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shri Amit Kumar delivered the welcome address and presented a report. The occasion was attended by various dignitaries including Leader of Opposition in Bilaspur Municipal Corporation Shri Rajesh Singh, District Panchayat CEO Shri Ramprasad Chouhan, In-charge DFO Shri Abhinav Kumar, ward councilors, public representatives, and numerous citizens.
