The Campaign to Revitalize Water Sources Should Be a Grand Mission – Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has rallied citizens to join forces in a concerted effort to conserve, promote, and rejuvenate water sources. Addressing the citizens during the commencement of pond restoration in Khunajhir Kalan village, Chhindwara district, Dr. Yadav emphasized the significance of June 16th, marked as Ganga Dashami. He announced that the campaign would be commemorated in diverse ways leading up to Ganga Dashami. Stressing the indispensable role of water in life, he evoked poet Rahim’s words, “Rahiman paani raakhiye, bin paani sab sun.” Responding to the pleas of local representatives, he instructed the construction of a ghat along the pond’s banks as part of its restoration. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav performed the bhoomi pujan of the renovation work of the old pond and planted saplings on its banks.

Among those present on the occasion were Chhindwara MP Shri Vivek Bunty Sahu, former ministers Shri Deepak Saxena and Shri Nana Bhau Mohod, former president of District Panchayat Smt. Kanta Thakur, Mayor Shri Vikram Ahake, Leader of Opposition Nagar Palik Nigam Shri Vijay Pandey, Shri Sheshrao Yadav, Shri Daulat Singh Thakur, Shri Vijay Jhanjhari, Shri Ankur Shukla, Shri Rohit Popli and other public representatives, Collector Shri Sheelendra Singh, Superintendent of Police Shri Manish Khatri, CEO District Panchayat Shri Partha Jaiswal, CEO District Panchayat Mohkhed Shri B.C. Timhariya, Executive Engineer Rural Engineering Service Smt. Kavita Patwa along with other officers, distinguished citizens, and villagers.

It may be noted that on the instructions of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan is being run by the state government from June 05 to 16 for the conservation, promotion, and renovation of water sources. Under this campaign, various activities are being organized for water conservation and promotion. The renovation work of the pond which was constructed about 26-27 years ago includes, deepening, pitching, and repair work. This will be done through the MNREGA scheme and public participation at a cost of approximately Rs 6.30 lakh.

Addressing the gathering at the Dussehra ground, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav pledged unwavering commitment to the comprehensive development of Chhindwara district. He assured that every gram panchayat and ward would experience a surge of progress, with a focus on uplifting the lives of the underprivileged. Driven by the goal of empowering youth, ample employment opportunities will be created, alongside initiatives to support farmers and women. Acknowledging the sanctity of rivers like Kanhan, Pench, Kulbehra, Shakkar, and Dudhi in Chhindwara, Dr. Yadav announced plans for their enhancement, along with the rejuvenation of ponds and other water sources through the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan. Furthermore, he declared unrestricted access for farmers to utilize pond silt and affirmed the government’s solidarity with water conservationists.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that he is proud of the martyrdom of the brave soldiers who risked their lives to protect the country. Two martyrs each of Chhindwara have sacrificed their lives for the country. Paying tribute to the parents and families of Martyr Vicky Pahade and Martyr Kabirdas Uike, he said that their families will be given jobs. He presented a cheque of Rs 1 crore to the wife of martyr Vicky Pahade on stage. He also said that approval will be given to naming colleges after the martyrs and all other demands will be fulfilled.

For water conservation in ponds in Chhindwara and revitalization of more than 200 water sources in the urban body, he said that water structures should be revived and more trees should be planted.

Air Ambulance and Air Taxi Services to Enhance Civic Facilities

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized the significant impact of air ambulance services on public welfare within the state. He announced that Ayushman cardholders would receive complimentary services at government and Ayushman-affiliated hospitals nationwide. Those without Ayushman cards would be provided with free transportation to state government hospitals and fixed-rate transportation services outside the state. Additionally, air taxi services have been initiated in eight major cities across the state, with plans to extend these services to Chhindwara district in the near future.

Efforts will be made to arrange Jam Sanwali darshan by helicopter – Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the facility of visiting religious places by helicopter has been started in Omkareshwar and Amarkantak of the state and soon darshan by helicopter will also be available in Jam Sanwali in Chhindwara district for which efforts will be made.

Reservation facility – Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that people belonging to Scheduled Castes, Tribes, Other Backward Classes, and poor sections of the state will get the benefit of reservation. He said that earlier 14 percent reservation was made for Other Backward Classes, but after getting statutory approval from the court, now people of this class will get the benefit of 27 percent reservation. Orders have been issued to this effect. They will be given the reservation facility which is available for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, but now a provision of 10 percent reservation has also been made for any poor person belonging to the general category.

Shri Bunty Vivek Sahu, the newly elected MP of Chhindwara parliamentary constituency, said that for the first time, the son of Chhindwara will go to Parliament and be their voice. Now every possible effort will be made for the development of Chhindwara district with the cooperation of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav.

He requested Chief Minister Dr. Yadav’s cooperation in providing employment opportunities to the youth of Chhindwara, completing the construction work of the university soon, opening new colleges soon, and other development works.
