Chandigarh, June 06, 2024: Bank of India, one of the leading public sector banks, reinforced its commitment to the Defence Pensioners by signing MOU with the Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Pensions) through SPARSH Portal and provide services to pensioners through its wide network of branches in an effective manner, acting as SPARSH Service centers.
The Signing Ceremony was held on 03rd June, 2024 at the Controller General of Defence Accounts Headquarters, New Delhi with the Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Pensions) represented by Shri Sham Singh, Principal Controller, PCDA (P) and Bank of India was represented by Shri Ajay Kumar Panth, Deputy General Manager, Government Business Department in the presence of CGDA Smt. Devika Raghuvanshi.
Through this MoU, Bank of India’ s selected 433 branches will act as Service Centres to provide last mile connectivity to pensioners, especially those in remote areas/ without access to SPARSH/ no technical knowledge. These branches will act as an interface for SPARSH, allowing pensioners to update their profiles, register grievances and seek redressal, complete digital annual identification, verify their pensioner data, and obtain detailed information about their monthly pension. Later on these services will be extended to all the 5100+ branches of the bank.
The MOU is a reflection of the Bank of India’s constant endeavour to adopt new technologies to serve the Defence Pensioners and provide them services in a timely manner.
