2852 complaints of violation of code of conduct received on “C-Vigil App” in 27 days

All complaints were resolved swiftly

Chief Electoral Officer Shri Anupam Rajan has said that the Model Code of Conduct is effective from March 16 for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 in the state. Complaints of violation of Model Code of Conduct are being received from citizens on “C-Vigil App”. In the last 27 days i.e. from March 16 to April 11, 2852 complaints of violation of the code of conduct have been received on the C-Vigil app. All these complaints have been resolved promptly.

Shri Rajan said that mainly 286 complaints have been received in Sagar, Ujjain 232, Gwalior 179, Morena 172, Rajgarh 160, Rewa 155, Indore 130, Damoh 120, Sehore 118 and 106 complaints have been received from Khargone district. Similar complaints have been received from other districts also.

Shri Rajan has urged the citizens of the state that if they want to make any direct complaint related to violation of Model Code of Conduct in elections, then they can do so through “C-Vigil App”. For this, the concerned citizen will have to go to Google Play Store and download “C-Vigil App”.

Action will be taken within 100 minutes

Shri Rajan said that if a citizen has information about any incident related to violation of the code of conduct, he will have to upload the photo or video on the “C-Vigil App”. After receiving the complaint, action will be taken within the next 100 minutes.

It is noteworthy that “C-Vigil App” has been prepared by the Election Commission of India for redressal of complaints regarding violation of Model Code of Conduct. Through this app, any citizen can make other types of complaints including to prevent the political parties or candidates from distributing money, material, clothes, jewellery, etc. in any way to woo the voters, threatening the voters to vote in their favour, transporting voters in their own vehicle, putting promotional material on the building or walls or premises of a building owner without his permission or writing advertisements on the wall.
