Swift resolution of complaints in C-Vigil App
Chief Electoral Officer Shri Anupam Rajan said that as soon as the Model Code of Conduct came into effect from March 16, complaints started being received on the C-Vigil app. Till April 1, a total of 1473 complaints have been received through this app from all the districts of the state. All these complaints have been resolved promptly.
Shri Rajan said that mainly 165 complaints have been received in Sagar district, 128 in Gwalior, 111 in Ujjain, 70 in Khargone, 69 in Shahdol, 60 in Sehore, 59 in Rewa, 57 in Dhar, 53 in Bhopal, 51 in Niwari, 44 in Raisen, 41 in Rajgarh along with complaints from other districts. Shri Rajan has requested the citizens of the state that if they want to make any direct complaint related to violation of the Model Code of Conduct in elections, they can do so through the C-Vigil app. For this, the concerned citizen will have to go to Google Play Store and download the C-Vigil app. For this, whenever a citizen gets information about any such incident, he will have to upload a photo or video on the C-Vigil app. After receiving the complaint, action will be taken within the next 100 minutes.
It is noteworthy that C-Vigil app has been prepared by the Election Commission of India for redressal of complaints regarding violation of Model Code of Conduct. Through this app, any citizen can make other types of complaints including to prevent the political parties or candidates from distributing money, material, clothes, jewellery, etc. in any way to woo the voters, threatening the voters to vote in their favour, transporting voters in their own vehicle, putting promotional material on the building or walls or premises of a building owner without his permission or writing advertisements on the wall.
