1770 sub health centres will be constructed at a cost of Rs 1150 crore
Under the 15th Finance Commission, the Central Government has sanctioned Rs 1 thousand 150 crore for the construction of a total of 1 thousand 770 sub-health centres in the state that do not have building. The state government has been accorded approval for the per unit construction cost of Rs 65 lakh, hiking it by Rs 10 lakh from Rs 55 lakh. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla had requested Union Health Minister Shri Mansukh Mandaviya to increase the per unit cost due to the revision of the rate schedule of the Public Works Department applicable in the state and hike in GST rates from 12 to 18 percent. The state has received an additional allocation of Rs 177 crore. This is an important step in strengthening health facilities in remote rural areas of the state.
In the state, 1 thousand 770 sub-health centres without buildings will be constructed. These include 172 in Bhopal division, 173 in Gwalior division, 303 in Indore division, 294 in Jabalpur division, 174 in Sagar division, 204 in Ujjain division, 86 in Narmadapuram division, 10 in Shahdol division, 109 in Chambal division and 245 buildings for sub health centers will be constructed in Rewa division. Apart from this, approval has been given by the Central Government for the construction of buildings of 92 primary health centres in the state at a cost of Rs 146 crore 28 lakh.
