Mumbai, Aug 23 (IANS) Television actress Nia Sharma channeled her inner “Govinda” to break dahi handi to celebrate Janmashthmi on the sets of “Laughter Chef Fun Unlimited.”
Nia took to Instagram, where she shared a video from the sets of the show, hosted by Bharti Singh and judged by chef Harpal Singh Sokhi.
In the clip, an agile Nia is seen on the top of the human pyramid and breaking the dahi handi, which is usually filled with curd or milk.
“Issse zayada mazaaaaa nahi aaya kabhi. The team had more confidence in me than I could have.. thank youuuuuuuuuuu. Janmashtami special tonight on #laughterchefs,” she wrote as the caption.
The dahi handi festival is mostly celebrated in Maharashtra and Goa and falls on the day after the Krishna Janmashtami, also known as Gokulashtami, which observes Lord Krishna’s birth.
The festival honours an event from Lord Krishna’s childhood, who was known to naughtily steal butter or curd from his neighbourhood.
Recently, Nia shared a behind-the-scenes (BTS) video from the set of her show revealing how the production team snatched her phone before the shooting of the new episode began.
In the clip Nia was heard saying: “How do I look? She is taking my phone away.. before my phone gets snatched.. I want to show everybody my new look for ‘Laughter Chefs’…”
The video concluded with Nia telling the production team: “De rahi hu de rahi hu…. lo lelo mera phone le jao. Sabse pehle le jao..”
The show also stars Krushna Abhishek, Rahul Vaidya, Karan Kundrra, Ankita Lokhande, Vicky Jain, Jannat Zubair Rahmani, Sudesh Lehri, and Kashmera Shah.
The new episode features the star cast celebrating the Ganesh Chaturthi on the sets of the show. ‘Laughter Chefs Unlimited Entertainment’ airs on Colors.
Apart from the laughter show, Nia is also playing a witch named Nishigandha in the fantasy-thriller-romance ‘Suhagan Chudail’. It also stars Zayn Ibad Khan, and Debchandrima Singha Roy in the lead roles.
